Prior to Six Ways From Sunday forming, we were in a band named Anchorhead. Jer and Pat played guitar, Brendan was on bass and vocals, and Adam Sullivan played the drums. Adam left to live in California and skateboard, and the rest of the guys kept the band together. Jay Bayer from Prank filled in on drums briefly, but it was obvious that Anchorhead was finished. Jer, Pat and Brendan formed Six Ways From Sunday in October of 1997.
Six Ways played for two and a half years in a variety of different clubs and venues. We shared stages with Mid Carson July, Discount, Juliana Theory, to name a few. We took trips to the midwest to play shows in flooded log cabins, dingy bowling alleys, and buildings that even respectable bums wouldn't be caught dead in. Needless to say, we were a little weary of spending our time and money playing in shitholes. So we took some time off for "re-tooling". In 2000, Six Ways broke up for just under a year to give us some time to reflect. We began playing together again, and writing songs late in 2000. After time off it seems like we're better than before, tighter, and more laid back. Jer is studying to become a teacher and substitutes on a regular basis. Pat is taking classes all over the place. Brendan works full time and runs his hack, psuedo-record label/studio Artful Dodger Records. We're always willing to play shows so if you want us to play your show, email us by clicking the hex
